A Week in the Life of a Calligraphy Artist
Freehand engraving on compact mirrors for Rocket Mortgage’s Women Intern Empowerment event at The Madison in Detroit (Check out Comerica Park behind me!)
The title of this particular blog describes the environment in which this blog is even coming to life.
What a week it’s been over here in my little corner of the internet. Between creating a wedding advent calendar for my bestie’s wedding coming up (in less than 7 days by the way!!), to working 3 live events in the form of brand activations (1 corporate and 2 retail), while squeezing in a few in-studio commissions, seeing off one of my other close friends before she moves to Phoenix, and managing consistency throughout my own content all at the same damn time. As much as I complain, I genuinely would not have it any other way. If my days aren’t packed with as much work as socializing, then I simply do not want it.
Here are the highlights:
Monday
Went kayaking at Gallup Livery in Ann Arbor. Not featured: Kelly who is taking the photo.
Tuesday
Engraved compact mirrors as part of an activation for Rocket Mortgage’s Intern event supporting Women Who Lead
Wednesday
Spent time with my family and finally tried Buns n Patties in Berkley!! We willlll be back
Thursday
Finally created a Google Form for in-studio luggage tag personalization requests!! Took me long enough.
Friday
Happy Juneteenth! I spent this day engraving for D’usse Cognac at King of Wyoming off of Wyoming and Schoolcraft in Detroit, Michigan
Saturday
Spent 2 hours engraving for Jo Malone London at Somerset Mall in Troy, Michigan
Sunday
Happy Father’s Day! Needed this Strawberry Latte to pick me up after a night out on the town.
This blog was more fun than informative, but hey, maybe it was a little bit of both. 3 events in a week is a good week to me, but I would never be mad at more.
Until next time!
